Pass at Tverråga

23 x 25" | oil on canvas On this third day in the tundra, dark sheets of mountain opened up on either side of us as we walked in the chasm between them. Clouds swept down the mountaintops, hiding and revealing in quick succession patches of snow that sent trickles of water down every rock face until the water pooled in the long, clear, cleansing, rock-strewn creek in the valley. That’s the painting. A small herd of moose or reindeer hoof prints followed the same path we did.
